How direct ordering works

Hot from our oven to your Denver door.

Ordering from Pizza de Wes is short by design: check your address, pick your pies, confirm the total, and the kitchen takes it from there. Here is what happens at each step, what updates you get, and how we handle changes or accuracy issues.

The route

How Direct Ordering Works Here

If you have ordered through Uber Eats, Grubhub, Postmates, or Slice before, the shape of the process will feel familiar — the difference is who owns each step. Here, the kitchen and the driver are one operation, so a problem is answered by the people who made the food.

  1. 01

    Call or send the form

The fastest path is a call to +1-303-555-0492. We confirm your address, the style and size, any substitutions, the delivery fee, and the ETA in one conversation. If you would rather not talk, the contact form works the same way — send the order and we reply with a confirmation and a total.

  2. 02

Confirm the window we can hit

We will not confirm a delivery time we cannot hit. If the kitchen is buried, we tell you the realistic window and let you decide. That honesty sometimes costs us an order, and it prevents far more complaints than it loses.

  3. 03

    Dough stretched, cheese weighed

Once confirmed, the order goes into the kitchen queue. The pie is scheduled to match the driver, not the other way around. If the oven is full, the order waits on the line rather than sitting finished in a warm box.

  4. 04

Runner checks the ticket, driver takes it

When the pizza is out of the oven and boxed, the runner checks it against the printed ticket. Then it goes straight to the driver, who is already staged or arriving during the final minutes of the bake. That sequencing is the whole reason the pizza arrives hot.

What you get

Every order from our ovens comes with the same four messages. They are the real milestones — not a spinning animation that tells you nothing when it stalls.

Ticket rail — updates you receive

Tracking, without the guessing game

We send status updates by text: order confirmed, pizza in the oven, driver on the way, and a final “arriving now” message. You also get a phone number for the driver during active delivery, so if the entrance is unclear you can reach them directly. That is a real advantage over marketplace orders, where you often cannot reach the driver at all.

We do not show a live map with a moving dot. Third-party apps have that feature, and it looks impressive until the dot stalls three blocks away and you have no way to ask why. We would rather send you a text at each real milestone than a smooth animation that does not help.

  • Order confirmed. A human reads the ticket back before it enters the queue.
  • Pizza in the oven. Sent the moment the pie slides off the peel.
  • Driver on the way. The driver's number rides along with the message.
  • Arriving now. The final text, sent as the driver turns onto your block.

Anything you want to add to an order — a soda, a side, a second pie — can go in a separate call while the first is in the oven.

Changing or cancelling

The cutoff is the oven door.

You can change or cancel any order until the pizza goes into the oven. After the bake starts, we can add items in a separate order, but we cannot un-bake a pie we have already committed. That cutoff is the same for every customer, and we tell you the exact moment when we confirm the order.

If you need to cancel, call +1-303-555-0492 immediately. If the pie has not gone in, we cancel cleanly with no charge. If it has, we will talk through the options — which usually means the pizza still gets made and delivered, and you are not charged for anything you did not receive.

Accuracy on the line

How we catch mistakes before they leave

The runner's check at the box is the main accuracy control. It catches a missing soda, a wrong topping, or a substitution that got dropped. If something does slip through, we want to hear about it while the driver is still reachable, because that is the moment we can actually fix it.

  1. Read back

Ticket read back at the line

Every ticket is repeated aloud at the station before it enters the queue. That habit catches allergy notes and substitutions before they hit the oven.

  2. Stretch

    Dough weighed, cheese portioned

A consistent portion is what makes the second pizza taste like the first. The scale is on the bench, not in a drawer.

  3. Box

Runner checks the ticket against the box

Sodas, sides, substitutions — the runner holds the printed ticket next to the closed box and calls out the mismatch before it rides.

  4. Handoff

Driver stages before the bake finishes

The driver is at the pass during the last minute of the bake. No pizza waits on the rack for a ride that has not left yet.

If you have a serious allergy, tell us directly on the phone rather than relying on the order form. We will talk through what the kitchen can handle before we take the order.

Accuracy control

The check at the box is the last line of defense before the pie rides out.

We also read every ticket back at the line. That habit catches allergy notes and substitutions before they hit the oven — the same reading that keeps your order accurate when the kitchen is at its busiest hour, and the same reason we tell you to call instead of relying on a form when something matters.

Direct vs. marketplace

Why direct ordering changes the economics

Third-party marketplaces charge restaurants a commission on every order, and some of that gets passed back to you as a higher menu price or a service fee. They also add their own delivery fee on top. Ordering direct skips that layer, so the price you see is the price the kitchen gets.

How a Pizza de Wes direct order compares with a third-party marketplace order
Step Ordering direct with us Ordering on a marketplace app
Who takes the order The kitchen. The person who takes the call is a few feet from the oven and can answer questions about the menu. An in-app ordering layer. The kitchen receives a ticket it did not write.
Who answers a problem A call goes straight to the line. If the pie arrived cold, you talk to the person who boxed it. The app's support system, which then reaches back to the kitchen that made the food.
What the driver knows The driver is our own runner and has the ticket in hand. Ask for them by name and they are reachable on their phone. A contract driver who may be several orders deep in a stack and route optimizing for someone else.
What the price includes The food, our delivery fee, and nothing else. The menu price is the price the kitchen gets. A marketplace service fee and the app's own delivery fee, layered on top of the restaurant's price.

It also keeps the feedback loop short. On Uber Eats or Grubhub, a problem often has to travel through the app's support system before it reaches the kitchen that made the food. Here, a call goes straight to the line — that is not a small difference when your pizza arrived cold.

What we cannot do

Bounds we will not pretend past.

We would rather set an honest limit than write a marketing line we cannot keep. Here is what the kitchen actually does not do, so you know where the edges are before you call.

  • Not a five-minute promise

We cannot promise a five-minute delivery. Denver traffic and the oven set the floor, and we tell you the window we can hit.

  • Not a fix we cannot hear

We cannot fix a mistake we do not hear about. If something is off, call while the driver is still reachable — that is the window we can act in.

  • Not every address

We cannot reach every address, and we will not pretend a restaurant can. The delivery page lists where our drivers actually run, and the night-net band on it shows where the road ends for us.

  • Not a live map

We cannot offer a live-tracking map with a moving dot, because we send real updates instead. Four honest texts beat one animation that stalls.

What we can do is take the order, make it properly, and get it to you hot inside the radius we actually serve. If that is the trade you want, we are ready.

One number, one line, one route

A call goes straight to the line that made the pie.

No support queue, no ticket routed to a city you are not in. The person who answers is at the pass — and they can see your order on the rail.

Place an order

Call the counter or send the form — we confirm the total before the pie goes in.

Confirm coverage

Check the delivery page for the streets our drivers actually run before you commit.

Last call

Every pie that leaves this counter rides with the ticket still attached. If you have ordered here before, you already know what that means — and if you have not, the phone number is the fastest way to find out.
